Flexible Covered Space

Movable & Temporary Structure Installation Across BC

Installation, dismantling, modification, and relocation support for movable, temporary, container-top, and other flexible covered structures used on working sites.

Service Overview

JAP Structures installs movable and temporary structures used for storage, construction, logistics, recycling, equipment protection, weather protection, and changing site operations. Systems may be ground-mounted, container-supported, relocatable, seasonal, or designed for a defined period of use.

Temporary does not mean simple. The work still depends on the supplied system, anchoring or foundation method, site exposure, access, lifting requirements, assembly sequence, intended duration, doors and openings, and the conditions under which the structure will be used.

Existing structures can also be reviewed for dismantling, modification, relocation, and reassembly when the components, documents, condition, new site, and transportation responsibilities are known.

Proof From the Field

Flexible structures fitted to real site constraints.

Movable and temporary systems can be used where space, operating conditions, relocation needs, or changing site demands require a flexible installation approach.

What We Do

Movable and temporary structure work can include

The exact work is confirmed from the supplied system, site conditions, project documents, materials, access, equipment, and schedule.

Project Process

From project details to field installation.

Early planning helps identify access, materials, equipment, responsibilities, site conditions, and scheduling requirements before crews arrive.

  1. Step 1

    Review the system and use

Provide the system type, documents, dimensions, intended duration, current or proposed site, component condition, and required installation or relocation date.

  2. Step 2

    Review both sites

For relocations, access, staging, anchoring, component handling, transport, storage, lifting, ground conditions, and operating restrictions are reviewed at each location.

  3. Step 3

    Plan installation or relocation

The team organizes dismantling where required, labelling, material handling, transport interfaces, equipment, site preparation, assembly sequence, and responsibilities.

  4. Step 4

    Complete the field work

The structure is assembled or reassembled, aligned, covered, fastened, adjusted, and completed according to the supplied system information and agreed requirements.

Installation Conditions

Compact sites, staged work, and different support conditions.

Each system is reviewed for access, anchoring, component handling, transport, working space, weather exposure, and the intended period of use.

Industries Served

Field support for active commercial sites.

Projects range from storage and equipment protection to access systems, working structures, and operational site improvements.

Project planning considerations

  • Permitting and engineering requirements depend on the site, structure, duration, use, and local authority.
  • The new site must be prepared for the specified foundation or anchoring system before reassembly.
  • Reusable components should be identified and inspected before a relocation plan is finalized.
  • Transport, storage, freight, disposal, equipment, and missing-component responsibilities are confirmed separately.
  • Wind exposure, weather, access, and the intended period of use can affect installation planning.

Completed Work

Protected space without a one-size-fits-all layout.

Projects range from small shelters to open-ended equipment covers and large operational structures with different access requirements.

Service Area

Based in Delta and serving projects across British Columbia.

JAP Structures serves movable and temporary structure projects throughout British Columbia from its base in Delta. Relocation projects are reviewed according to both site locations, structure size, equipment, transport, travel, and schedule.

Projects farther from Delta are reviewed based on the required mobilisation, travel, and schedule.

Free site visit consultation is available for projects within approximately two hours of Delta, BC. Projects elsewhere in British Columbia are reviewed based on scope, schedule, crew, equipment, and travel requirements.

Safety & Site Readiness

Safety & Site Readiness

JAP Structures plans installation work around real site conditions, including access, working heights, lift equipment, sequencing, weather, and required safety procedures. Crews can coordinate around WorkSafeBC requirements, fall protection and fall arrest planning, forklift operation needs, and first aid expectations based on the project scope.

  • WorkSafeBC-conscious site planning
  • Fall protection and fall arrest aware
  • Forklift and lift-access coordination
  • First aid and site-safety planning
  • Installed from drawings, manuals, and site requirements

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions about movable & temporary structure installation

Send the available drawings, photos, dimensions, location, and timing for answers specific to your project.

What types of temporary structures do you install?

Projects can include movable fabric-covered systems, container-top structures, temporary storage covers, seasonal shelters, and relocatable covered work or storage areas supplied with suitable documents and components.

Can JAP Structures relocate an existing structure?

Relocation can be reviewed when the existing condition, manufacturer system, component inventory, documents, current site, new site, transport plan, anchoring, and responsibilities are known.

Can a structure be dismantled and stored for later use?

Dismantling and organized component handling may be included. Labelling, storage protection, transportation, inventory, missing components, and future reassembly requirements should be planned before the work starts.

Do temporary structures require permits?

Requirements depend on the location, use, size, duration, anchoring, and local authority. The owner or project team should confirm permitting and engineering requirements for the proposed site.

Can you modify doors or openings during relocation?

Practical modifications may be reviewed when drawings, manufacturer requirements, structural considerations, supplied components, and the desired opening are clearly documented.

What information is needed for a relocation quote?

Provide photos and dimensions, manufacturer documents, component condition, current and new locations, access details, transport arrangements, foundation or anchoring status, desired timing, and any modifications required.
